Bishop Strickland, formerly bishop of Tyler, Texas, is allegedly receiving ads for new dioceses only moments after being removed from his current see.
“Now that’s just creepy,” the bishop was heard saying to himself. “How did Facebook know I was looking for a new diocese?”
Bishop Strickland’s social media was flooded with pop ups advertising episcopal openings across the United States and abroad. And, while many seemed fraudulent, some reportedly piqued the bishop’s interest.
“Hot new dioceses opening up in your area?” the bishop gasped. “Come on. But Cardinal-Archbishop of Chicago? That sounds kind of nice!”
At press time, the bishop was also getting targeted ads for phone restriction apps.
