European Parliament urges ‘unrestricted’ exercise of a woman’s right to own guns

EUROPE—The European Union’s parliament passed a resolution yesterday expressing its “concern” over the restrictions being discussed over gun rights.

“A woman has a right to choose her firearm of preference,” the resolution reads. “We, and all who value democracy, are saddened by the increased calls to restrict this woman’s right most especially as coming from the United States.”

The resolution urges member states to ban all waiting periods, such as making gun ownership illegal for the first 15-weeks after application, as well as giving gun providers increased government subsidies for providing “vital self-defense.”

Catholic bishops all over the world forcefully condemned the resolution, especially in the United States.
