Bill Donohue sues himself for anti-Catholic defamation

Bill Donohue, President of the Catholic League, filed an injunction against himself yesterday for “anti-Catholicism” and “Church defamation.”

Dr. Donohue has long been in the public eye, using litigation and media appearances to combat anti-Catholicism in the United States. However, yesterday’s case marks the first time Donohue has turned his considerable weapons against himself.

“I’ve gone after Democrats, Republicans, teachers, students, lawyers and news anchors,” he told The Daily Inquisition. “It was only a matter of time before I sued myself.”

Donohue has repeatedly come under fire from voices inside and outside the Church for his often-controversial statements.

“I’ve been so focused on Catholic defamation from the hostile voices outside the Church,” he said. “Turns out, the real anti-Catholicism was inside us all along!”
