Federal popularity data indicates Pride Month is still the most popular month of the 7 Deadly Sins Months, staying above Sloth Month and Envy Month for the fifth year in a row.
The 7 Deadly Sins Months series was originally intended to honor a separate deadly sin each month, but the quick popularity of Pride has overshadowed the other sins. Federal pollsters hoped that Sloth Month (August) and Envy Month (December) may catch up this year, but early surveys indicate otherwise.
“While we’re thrilled to see Pride Month–the capstone of the ‘Deadly Sins’ series–take off so much, we can’t help but be a little disappointed that our other work hasn’t garnered similar attention,” said Silvia Weathers, head of the Federal program.
“We thought for sure Lust Month [February] at least would be a contender, but that’s one of the least popular months of all.”
The other six months lagged significantly behind Pride Month, so much so that regulators have considered combining them.
“November is a good candidate to compete with Pride Month, I think,” Weathers said. “Right now it’s only Gluttony Month, but we could easily combine that with Greed Month and double its popularity.”
“Plus, if it’s an election year, we could even throw Wrath Month on top of that!”
She smiled, before continuing. “Just think of how appealing that would be for America.”
